Zaharny Zavodi owns and produces some of Bulgaria’s most beloved brands for decades, such as: Lukcheta, Sladki Vremena, Mentina, Lemon Slices, Temenuzhka, Caramel Moo, Chaika wafers, and others. The company was founded in 1912 and is one of the oldest confectionery manufacturers in Bulgaria.

Our History

A Legacy Passed Down Through Generations

From a small factory in 1912 to the largest confectionery manufacturer in Bulgaria.

The history of Zaharni Zavodi AD began on 18 August 1912, when the “Bulgarian-Czech Joint-Stock Company for the Sugar Industry” was founded in Sofia by engineer Rudolf Pitzka. Its principal shareholder was the Prague Credit Bank.

OUR CERTIFICATIONS

Zaharni Zavodi holds a certificate for the successful implementation of a quality management system in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. We are certified to IFS Food Version 8, an international standard for food safety and quality. Zaharni Zavodi's Turkish delight, candy and halva products hold a Halal certificate issued by the Grand Mufti's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria.
